Artistic language is viewed as a typological category with open and vague borders. It has a special position in federal combination of variations in contemporary Polish, variations which intermingle with each other to create complicated compositions of multilevel references. Artistic language crosses the borders of the composition not only due to connections with its own tradition but also because of reaching the areas of the latest practical communication and joining the polarized space of contemporary culture. Being a typological category, artistic language is also a complex semiotic phenomenon. By accumulation of well known antinomies (left over from the 20th century), it creates new ones. The image of artistic language, as presented in the article, is a result of holistic approach, another viewing perspective, combining differentiation and relative and panoramic characteristics.
