This paper argues that there are interconnection among cultures, ethnicities and globalization. It provides definitions and contemporary clarification of the salient concepts. The paper examines the bifurcated scholarly views of ethnicity: toleration and celebration. It explores three philosophical under-currents of cross-cultural interaction namely: pluralism, monadism, and monism. The paper contends that cultural dialogue is imperative and that critical toleration and celebration of ethnicity tagged cultural synergism is the reasonable alternative for handling ethnic matters and attenuating inter-ethnic conflicts in the era of globalization.
