The article concerns the evolution of relationships between the European Union and China. It describes a complicated way from hostility to the strategic partnership on the background of global changes and domestic challenges. In this case it is not only a dry chronology. It is an attempt to analyze reasons of the growing partnership of countries with different cultural and political experiences. Although one can observe deepening cooperation and dialogs, the approach is still marked by substantial cultural and political self-reflection of both sides.
