There are still very few analyses or reflections that would assess the level of health care market diversity in regional dimension. The reason to take up this particular subject matter is the fact that the balance between supply and demand in medical services market guarantees access to the service at a satisfactory level. The medical services market is, however, characterized by a growing demand surplus over the supply, also due to the ageing of Polish society. The main aim of this article is to indicate the problem of disproportion in medical services supply, as well as to show basic trends of changes that took place between 1999 and 2007 and an attempt to assess the influence of the reforms carried out over the regional disparities in the analyzed aspect. The medical services supply diversity diagnosis, which is being carried out in Polish administrative districts, confirms the existing disproportions and may positively verify the hypothesis about the lack of efficient influence of health protection system reforms over the disparities in the health services supply. The research that has been carried out is of illustrative character, mainly indicating the importance of the problem related to the need of identification of regional diversity of health services supply.
