W związku z przeprowadzanymi w ostatnich latach badaniami wskazującymi na wysoki i wciąż wzrastający odsetek menedżerów deklarujących odczuwany wysoki poziom stresu w pracy, warto przyjrzeć się przyczynom i skutkom tego zjawiska. Artykuł stanowi przegląd literatury podejmującej tematykę stresu zawodowego menedżerów. Zostały w nim przedstawione główne źródła stresu i jego konsekwencje. Ponadto, wymienione zostały sposoby radzenia sobie ze stresem zawodowym przez menedżerów oraz możliwości redukcji stresu pracowników przez organizacje.

In the light of recent studies showing high and still rising number of managers declaring significant level of stress in the work field, it is crucial to analyse reasons for this phenomenon and its effects. This paper seems to be an review of the literature in the area of occupational stress among managers. There were shown main causes of stress and their consequences. Moreover, there were enlisted ways of coping with occupational stress among managers and possibilities of reducing stress by the organizations.
