The aim of the paper is to analyze issues concerning the implementation of principles and mechanisms of Official Development Aid. by Poland. The main thesis of this paper is that Poland - as other new EU Member States - still faces enormous challenges in adopting the principles resulting from emerging consensus over aid effectiveness and that these challenges may have negative impact on the EU role as leader in the world campaign towards poverty eradication and reaching the Millennium Development Goals.
