The L and DS of the CSO, Hungary, founded in 1867, has become the oldest and, regarding its collection, one of the largest statistical special libraries of Europe. Its library deposit right makes its collection as large as 750 thousand documents, providing extended services for Hungarian and international users. Due to the support of CSO, a new integrated library automation system, OLIB 7.1 was introduced in 2002, and by the introduction of recent information technology, online connection could be established between the Library and its users. The authors overview the way as the Library has achieved from the firs book roaster the services of the Internet, by highlighting the results obtained with the OLIB 7.1 integrated library system. .
