The article presents the Hindu conception of activity (karman) and applies it to the notion of responsibility developed by Roman Ingarden. In this way the authoress can identify constitutive elements of the 'karman' - such as the act itself, its connection with the agent and the value of the act - and she can discuss the relationships that develop among them. Furthermore, by comparing Ingarden's proposition with the Hindu concept, she can expose and discuss a certain asymmetry in Ingarden's notion of responsibility.
