This article shows the beginnings of historical psychology. This one highlights early stages of the 'history with psychological contents' as far back as in the studies of great historians in ancient Greece. Closely related to it the historical psychology formed in Europe considerably later, in the end of 19th century, and then, in the first half of 20th century. At that time, the psychohistory tied to Freud's psychoanalysis was developed in the USA. Staying outside of main stream of psychology, the contemporary historical psychology derives from these different enterprises.
