The paper presents the nineteen yearly editions of 'Kalendarz Farmaceutyczny' (Pharmaceutical Almanac), published in the years 1921-1939, in Warsaw, by Franciszek Herod, M. Pharm. The first part of the paper presents terminological issues concerned with the notion of almanac, and its features as a form of writing. A brief account of the history of almanacs in Poland is given as well, with particular focus on the interwar period (1918-1939). The second part introduces the person of Franciszk Herod, a pharmacist, editor of 'Wiadomosci Farmaceutyczne' (Pharmaceutical News), and publisher. It also includes a profile of the publications that appeared in Herod's publishing house. The third part is devoted exclusively to an analysis of the form and content of the almanac.
