The following article is a biography sketch of Izabella Telezynska, the internationally acclaimed Polish actress, who is hardly known in Poland. Telezynska created her most memorable roles in the films directed by Ken Russell and Luchino Visconti. Telezynska played Madame Nadezhda von Meck, Peter Tchaikovsky's patroness, in Russell's 'The Music Lovers' (1970) and Queen Mother in Visconti's 'Ludwig' (1972). Her name can be found on the pages of prestigious Western editions of 'Who's Who'. She was one of few Polish actresses who gained status in Western cinema.
