The objective of the planned article is a diagnosis of the state of advancement of research in the field of family businesses in Poland. The article shall contain an attempt at identifying the main areas of study that have stirred the interest of Polish researchers to date. A more detailed look at studies devoted to matters of corporate governance, including questions of ownership structure, professionalization of management boards as well as the transfer of ownership between generations.
