The purpose of the paper is an analysis of outward foreign direct investments from the New Member States of the European Union in the period 1993-2009 and to identify the achieved stage of the investment development path by the new members of the EU. An outward of the capital was analyzed on the base of the stock (mln $) and FDI percentage ratios with respect to GDP. Net outward investment position (NOI) and growth rate changes of the inward and outward FDI allowed to indicate the analyzed states position on the investment development path. Three different ways of investment, presented by Poland, Hungary, Czech and Slovenia were also shown.
