Towards a system of permanent education, among the general principles and practical measures, special attention is paid to the teaching of foreign languages in each country for human understanding and better economic relations between the countries of Europe. Instruction in foreign languages is the more effective the earlier it starts, provided suitable methods are used. The article considers the necessity of using associative technology in teaching English to primary school pupils, analyses the method of associative symbols, its strengths and limitations.
