In my paper I review the classic and the most recent psychological literature on concurrent multitasking. After a brief description of two fundamental paradigms, I outline the history and the current status of the most influential theories on multitasking (bottleneck views, capacity sharing theories and a few computational models). Toward the end of my paper I concentrate on the presumed effects of practice on multitasking performance.
