Two pits with artificially deformed and burnt parts of weapons, equipment, belts, metal vessels and other objects were found illegally on the Rudná hill near Streženice in northwestern Slovakia. Additional research confirmed the finding situation, and a third grouping of objects was found. According to the analysis, the find belongs to the interface of the older and younger Roman period and represents the remains of ritual practices related to local warfare. The article mentions other similar deposits from the same period, found in the area of the Púchov culture (Blatnica) as well as in the Central Danube region, Moravia and Bohemia. These also include solitary finds of horse harnesses deposited in special places in the landscape.
