Economic integration, which means the elimination of economic borders between countries, is realised in the scope of markets and in the scope of economic policy. Free movement of goods and factors of production results in the increased interdependence of economies. It causes that the national policy of one country can have both positive and negative effects for the others. In this situation there is necessary to coordinate or to unify the economic policy of members' countries, but it has the conseąuences in the field of the autonomy of national priorities and realisation measures appointing. The Polish experiences as an associated country with the European Communities show that it can bring about the certain advantages as well as the threats. Taking it into account, apart from suitable macroeconomic policy, there is a need to elaborate the long-term economic strategy for Poland as an opened economy.
