Lomonosov did not write any theological or philosophical treatises; however, his theological views can be found in his poetry, in his lectures, and also in his scientific publications. In expressing his religious convictions, Lomonosov spoke as a scientist and a researcher for whom his scientific investigations have theological significance. The article presents his physic-theological views in which the glory of God is proclaimed by His creation and God’s care for His creation is manifested in nature’s harmonious working. The article also presents Lomonosov’s inflammatory statements about clergy and his self-image which very likely was religiously motivated.
