State was proclaimed. The Slovak State marked this historical moment as the beginning of one of its essential components. Concurrently, the Slovak Army established a new tradition, distinct and independent from Czechoslovak influence. In fact, the formation of the Slovak Army was a gradual process that extended over time. The new Slovak Army emerged not as a separate entity but from within the existing Czech-Slovak Army, adopting its organizational structure, command system, and military regulations. Only gradually, step by step, it was adapting the old mechanisms to the new national security conditions and the reduced territorial range. After initial improvisations, a new phenomenon entered the process of the Slovak Army origin: the guidance by the German Armed Forces.
