Inwestowanie społecznie odpowiedzialne staje się coraz bardziej znaczącym elementem rynków finansowych w wielu krajach od ponad dwóch dekad. Jednak stan wiedzy na temat społecznie odpowiedzialnego zachowania inwestorów pozostaje nadal stosunkowo niski. Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza głównych motywów inwestorów angażujących swoje fundusze w sposób odpowiedzialny społecznie. Artykuł pokazuje, że inwestorzy ci nie stanowią jednolitej grupy, ale różnią się − od dużych inwestorów instytucjonalnych do małych inwestorów indywidualnych, organizacji pozarządowych i innych. Poszczególne rodzaje inwestorów mają różne motywacje i strategie społecznie odpowiedzialnego inwestowania.

Socially responsible investing (SRI) is becoming an increasingly important element of the financial markets in many countries for more than two decades. However, knowledge about the socially responsible investors behavior is still not enough recognized. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the main motives of investors in allocating their funds in a socially responsible way. The article reveals, that these investors are not a uniform group but range from large institutional investors to small individual investors, NGOs and others. The different types of investors have different motivations and strategies for SRI.
