Współcześnie pozycja konkurencyjna przedsiębiorstwa jest w coraz większym stopniu pochodną kreatywności i innowacyjności jego kapitału intelektualnego (KI), który staje się mnożnikiem zgromadzonego kapitału ekonomicznego. Celem opracowania jest próba wskazania rekomendacji dla zmian w modelach zarządzania współczesnymi przedsiębiorstwami, adekwatnych do wzrostu roli kapitału intelektualnego jako czynnika przewagi konkurencyjnej – na podstawie badań pilotażowych obejmujących analizę modeli rozwojowych światowych liderów sektorów: elektronicznego, motoryzacyjnego, farmaceutycznego, petrochemicznego (klasyfikowanych w World Investment Report 2000-2015). W artykule przedstawiono dylematy teoretyczne dotyczące definiowania elementów KI oraz odwołano się do kwestii wpływu rosnącego znaczenia KI jako czynnika przewagi konkurencyjnej na zmiany w systemie organizacyjno-zarządczym przedsiębiorstwa. Dokonano przeglądu modeli zarządzania, dedykowanych firmom starającym się dostosować do nowych wyzwań, a następnie zestawiono je z wynikami badań pilotażowych. Podkreślono, że kluczowa dla kreacji przewagi konkurencyjnej staje się znajomość subkategorii budujących KI danej firmy oraz sukcesywne uwzględnianie ich w modelu zarządzania.

Nowadays, the competitive position of an enterprise is increasingly a derivative of the creativity and innovation of its intellectual capital (IC) which becomes a multiplier of an accumulated economic capital. The aim of the study is to try to identify recommendations for changes in the management models of modern enterprises, appropriate to the increase of the role of the IC as a factor of a competitive advantage – it based on an own preliminary research refer to business models of the world leaders in the electronic, automotive, pharmaceutical and petrochemical industries (World Investment Report 2000-2015). The author presents theoretical dilemmas about a definition of the IC and the impact of the increasing importance of IC as a factor of an competitive advantage on changes in the organizational and managerial system of an enterprise. In this study were reviewed theoretical business model concepts, dedicated to companies trying to adapt to the new challenges, which were compiled with research results. It was emphasized that the key to the creation of competitive advantage is the knowledge of the subcategory of IC which are important for particular enterprise and their inclusion in the business model.
