In the postmodern stage we are witnessing radical changes in the higher artistic education in the field of decorative art and textile design. This article deals with basic, general methodology, principles and content of modern scientific research, the development of creativity and formation of student’s professional competence during classes of “Artistic Tapestry”. The author also identifies the leading role of ancient ornamental art in the process of study in high school, with the help of national traditions to create carpet/tapestry in conjunction with an integrated approach and the influence of cultural interferences, but additionally taking into account the relevance of innovative technologies and programs.
