The article describes actions taken by the National Library of Poland to promote and implement Universal Decimal Classification in Polish libraries. Different editions of shortened tables are presented, stressing Universal Decimal Classification. Shortened edition for current national bibliography and public libraries (2006). Reference to the cooperation of the National Library of Poland in the area of UDC at national and international forums are made. At the international level this is shown by the cooperation with the UDC Consortium and participation in the UDC Summary, and in Multilingual Subject Access to Catalogues of National Libraries projects. At the national level it shown in the form of organizing meetings and workshops devoted to UDC and organizing meetings of the Commission for UDC. The article also mentions vertical descriptions of UDC symbols, introduced in the National Library of Poland in 2011, and presents the index of Universal Decimal Classification prepared in the MAK program. The structure and content of UDC is also described.
