Stability ... complements knowledge about reading and purchasing books by Poles presented by Izabela Koryś in the text A Social Map of Readership. This work contained and in-depth analysis of the titles chosen by Polish readers and (partially) buyers of books. The interests of those who bought books in 2010, to which considerable attention is devoted, are shown against the background of the history of Polish reading and book buying in the last two decades. It describes the transformation of public interest in different types of literature (described in functional and thematic terms), and characterizes the principles governing the changing preferences of book consumers as a whole in the Third Republic. Also indicated are the relationships between basic socio-demographic variables (gender, age, education, place of residence) and preferences for books.
