Abstracts
This study examines the way university students use programs for text correction. The research was carried out in four departments specialized in a media or journalistic focus. We have put together a questionnaire (basic research results were published in 2014). We examined the outcomes to know the limits of these programs by students of journalism and media. The results indicated that their knowledge about this problem is not very well. Many students could not name even one phenomenon that Word with an editing function was not able to correct. Those who specified at least one phenomenon, mostly identified the inability to distinguish between singular and plural (31%) and inability to correct spelling of foreign words and words that occur in a computer program (29,8 %). Most respondents relied on computer programs completely or partly and never verified with codification handbooks.
