Globalny kryzys finansowy lat 2007-2009 ukazał rosnącą rolę krajów rozwijających się, na czele z Chinami, w gospodarce światowej. Zajmują one wiodącą pozycję w przepływach handlowych, inwestycyjnych czy kapitałowych. W 2013 r. podjęły dwie inicjatywy: utworzenie Azjatyckiego Banku Inwestycji Infrastrukturalnych oraz przywrócenie Nowego Jedwabnego Szlaku. Celem artykułu jest analiza znaczenia Azjatyckiego Banku Inwestycji Infrastrukturalnych w realizacji projektu Nowego Jedwabnego Szlaku.

The global financial crisis of 2007-2009 appeared a growing role of developing countries, including China, in the global economy. China has obtained a leading position in trade, investment, and capital flows. In 2013 China undertook two initiatives: the creation of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and the restoration of the New Silk Road. The aim of the article is to analyze the importance of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank in the implementation of the New Silk Road.
