Studia Hercynia is a peer-reviewed journal that focuses on the study of the material culture of Antiquity, on relations between the Mediterranean and Central Europe, on the traditions of ancient art in European culture, and other related phenomena. The journal aims to advance Classical Archaeology and associated disciplines, both in the Czech Republic and internationally. The journal was established in 1997 by Prof. Jan Bouzek under the Institute of Classical Archaeology, Faculty of Arts, at the Charles University in Prague. It had had been issued annually until 2011; from then on, it is issued twice a year.
