The Y Generation is a generation of young people twenty to thirty years of age (born after 1980). They grew up in a free–market economy at a time of communication and digital technologies development. Today, they are entering the labor market and will become its main driving force over the upcoming years. The specific traits, needs, values, and expectations of representatives of the new generation require a change in approach to them as employees and the application of management techniques that differ from traditional ways of managing people. Recognition and comprehension of the attitude of the Y Generation towards professional work will make it possible for organizations to create motivating employment offers and build the engagement of young workers. The purpose of this research was to identify the expectations of the Y Generation with respect to professional work and the employer.
