The article analyses the way Ukrainian politicians are shown in the media. The analysis is focused on the groups of people who, after having entered the Ukrainian Parliament (Verhovnaya Rada), changed the party, which they had previously represented as candidates for voting. The issue was widely discussed by politicians, journalists and the whole Ukrainian society as it revealed a substantial change of political postulates as well as political programmes before and after voting. Invectives such as “Traitors” and “Dead Fowls” were used by politicians and journalists to describe numerous groups of deputies and politicians. The article deals with critical analysis of the discourse based on theoretical conclusions drawn on the grounds of the Ruth Wodak’s division into “The One’s Folks” and “The Others”, “The Good Ones” and “The Bad Ones”.
