The article is based on the perception of language as an ethno-cultural phenomenon, which reflects and preserves the linguistic image of the world created by a community of people sharing the same language, history and culture: ideas about the origin and functioning of the world, attitudes, customs, traditions, social and moral norms and values of the community members. The article focuses on the reflection of Slovak culture, influenced by a Christian worldview and Christian values, in the linguistic image of the world captured in traditional Slovak folk tales, particularly in the linguistic image of God (divine persons), reflected in specific lexemes, collocations, phrasemes, greetings and farewell phrases containing God’s names, attributes and actions.
