Zaplanowane i przemyślane, długofalowe działania kształtujące wysoki poziom zasobów moją stanowić kluczową rolę w minimalizowaniu prawdo- podobieństwa występowania zaburzeń depresyjnych.

Students of special education, as future educators and therapists are responsible for the support and proper development of their charges, so concern for their mental well-being seems justified. Extended stress, limitations, anxiety, a state of uncertainty about the immediate future and the spectre of imminent danger to health and life are significant predictors of lowered mood and affective disorders, including depression. The aim of this study is to analyse the relationship between selected personal resources and levels of depression in a group of special education students. The results indicate that the tendency towards depressive mood and affective disorders occurs in individuals with significantly lower subjective resources, with the strongest associations for resources such as life satisfaction and optimism. Planned and thoughtful, long-term interventions that build high levels of resources my play a crucial role in minimising the possibility of depressive disorders.
