The article presents the definition, genesis and nature of social marketing, that should be understood as the use of commercial marketing for the social purposes, including, in particular, disease and injury prevention, environmental protection and community involvement. In the article were analyzed the most important drawbacks associated with using of the social marketing in practice. The author described the issue of using of the social marketing on the example of the social campaign "Divorce? Think about it”, planned and carried out in 2011 by the Mom and Dad Foundation.
