In Jaroslava Koneva’s article The forest song about Orpheus and Eurydice (the metamorphoses of antique myth in Lesya Ukrainka’s works) we can trace the parallels between the ancient myth about Orpheus and Eurydice and the story of love and death of the main Lesya Ukrainka’s drama heroes. Here we mean the forest mermaaid Mavka and country young men Lukash, who is, like Orpheus, endowed with an unordinary musical talent. Ukrainian literature – poetry.
