Theoretically and methodologically, it is based on Saussure’s thesis of language as a system that consists of parts. Onym maps on of recording semantic symptoms, resp. content-semantic categories. It captures semantic qualities based on functional members that depict the circumstances of a creation of onym. The basic structure in modelling of onyms is the model. The model can be mapped according to frequency, analysed in terms of content by focusing on functional members, formally classified and fix the recorded data statistically. By generalization on the basis of the semantic field, it is possible to create more complex and sophisticated structures. There are types of those categories of onyms, resp. paradigm of model or paradigm of types of onym models, types of models and categories of models. Temporally, we set aside two stages: in the 1st stage since the 1970s, modelling was carried out on animate personal names, oikonyms and oikonyms. In the 2nd stage from the 2nd decade of the 21st century is realized by modelling of chrematonyms. Modelling of onyms clarifies the semantic circumstances of the origin of proper name, which in the final form of onym formation are weakened by focusing onym on the designation of one particular onymic object, one particular onymic social reality.
