The article is a review of Proceedings from linguistic conference devoted to Professor Slavomír Ondrejovič in occasion of his jubilee (held in 26th- 27thApril 2006). In the Proceedings there are 57 papers in 5 languages (Slovak, Czech, Russian, English, and German). The papers are devided into four theme groups corresponding with scientific orientation of S. Ondrejovič: I. Sociolinguistic and Ethno linguistics, II. Contemporary Language, Language Culture, Orthoepy, III. Grammar, Semantics and Corpus Linguistics, IV. Personalities and External History of Language.Reviewed Proceedings offers a place for presentation of thoughts based on a view that "the language doesn't work as highly logical system according to rules of logics and that should be regulated to even higher systematic nature, but it is a phenomenon - systematic but at the same time flexible - which is always ready for creative usage".
