Amongst numerous nominations used the leadership’s propaganda of the Stalinsm period, the top place look the вождь unit. Selection of the вождь nomination, functioning alongside such units as руководитель or кормчий, was dictated both by its high frequency in the analysed body of texts, as well as by the fact that due to the diversity of arguments accompanying it, it allows approximate reconstruction of a general conception of a leader in the Soviet ideological discourse. The analysis of the вождь nomination together with arguments allows specifying eight territotal and social areas of Stalin’s leadership: - social leadership within the USSR’s borders (вождь народа, вождь народов Советского Союза), - leadership in Eastern Bloc countries (вождь народов), - administrative power within the USSR’s borders (вождь Советского Союза), - political power within the USSR’s borders (вождь партии), - leadership over the revolution (вождь революции), - social leadership on the global scale (вождь народов всего мира), - leadership over selected groups of societies on the global scale (вождь трудящихся всего мира), - leadership over selected societies on the global scale ( вождь миролюбивых народов).
