Even though the death cards a distinct as a variation of the sepulchral text, is dominated by from and a strong appellative function, certain free variation of the conventional from of the textform occur. These variations to the form allow to adjust the text to its functional aspects and to change it creatively. This paper attempts to show that the change in form is linked to functional variation of the dieing field. Furthermore I will evaluate the possibility of codifying the formulations used in the texts taken as examples.
