Since 2015, the democratic order in Poland has experienced significant erosion, primarily due to legislative and institutional changes introduced by right-wing political forces. The article examines the process of democratic backsliding, focusing on the weakening of the rule of law, the tripartite division of power, and constitutional violations. Key examples include the 2020 presidential elections, where constitutional norms were ignored, and the introduction of emergency measures that lacked legal justification. The study explores how populist rhetoric, private interests infiltrating public institutions, and the decline of parliamentary standards have contributed to the weakening of democratic governance. Additionally, the article evaluates whether Polish parliamentarism, as a fundamental democratic mechanism, has reached its functional limits. The findings indicate that while democratic institutions remain formally intact, their functionality and credibility have been significantly undermined.
