This paper deals with the issue of the pedagogical interpretation of musical-dramatic works. The author maps and treats its theoretical premises and critically evaluates the complexity of the pedagogical interpretation of musical-dramatic works due to their synthetic nature. She identifies the difference between standardly used methods in the pedagogical interpretation of musical works on the one hand and the dramatic method on the other hand, which represent a limiting factor for the pedagogical interpretation of a musical-dramatic work. She proposes to build the concept of the pedagogical interpretation of musical-dramatic works on the attributes of critical thinking and perceives the dimension of cognitive abilities as an innovative means of such interpretation.
