This article describes one form of library and information services available to the public – the mobile library. It discusses the history and development of the mobile library, types of mobile libraries and how they are used. This article will look at the kinds of collections on offer, facilities available, what means are used to transport library stock and how service is organised. Also, what qualifications are needed to work in these institutions and the duties staff will carry out from day to day.
