Problem dostępności usług opiekuńczych dla osób niesamodzielnych staje się coraz istotniejszym problemem społecznym w Polsce. Dlatego zapoznanie się z doświadczeniami innych krajów, które zbudowały względnie efektywne systemy świadczenia usług w tym zakresie, wydaje się interesujące ze względu na potencjalną użyteczność tych rozwiązań dla osób odpowiedzialnych za prowadzenie polityki społecznej w Polsce. Model francuski wydaje się ciekawy dla polskich polityków i naukowców ze względu na jego wieloaspektowość: jest to kompleksowy system, oddziałujący zarówno na stronę popytową, jak i podażową. W naszym opracowaniu przedstawione zostaną zarówno podstawowe elementy tego systemu, jak i podjęta zostanie próba oceny jego efektywności.

The demand for the care services in Poland is bound to grow in the foreseeable future. Therefore, the creation of the coherent system of the services for the dependent persons is considered an important point in the political agenda. The insight into some successful strategies applied in other countries might be helpful, as the construction of national policy in the long-term care is in the early phase of the development. The French model of long term care seems particularly interesting for the Polish policy makers, experts and scholars. It is a complex and coherent system, which combines the stimulation of the demand-side of the market with the intervention on the supply-side. In the paper, we present the key components of the system and we assess the effectiveness of the French policy in the field of the Elderly care.
