Pasja pełni w życiu człowieka istotną rolę. W swojej harmonijnej od- słonie może pozytywnie oddziaływać w zasadzie na wszystkie jego aspekty. W literaturze przedmiotu stosunkowo łatwo znaleźć odpowiedzi na pytania o powody, dla których ludzie rozwijają swoje pasje, jak również o korzyści, jakie czerpią ze swoje- go zaangażowania w ich realizację. Brakuje natomiast opracowań dotyczących genezy ludzkich pasji. Celem artykułu było ukazanie, w oparciu o wyniki badań własnych, okoliczności, w jakich ludzie odkrywają swoje pasje. Autorka posłużyła się strategią studium przypadku, w ramach której przeprowadziła osiem wywiadów (pogłębionych, częściowo ustrukturyzowanych) z osobami posiadającymi pasje. Wnioski z przeprowadzonych badań są następujące: a) większość badanych odkryła swoją pasję w do- rosłości, b) pasja rozwijała się na kanwie wrodzonych predyspozycji bądź zdolności badanych, c) impulsem wyzwalającym pasję u badanych było silnie przeżyte doświadczenie, potrzeba sprostania wyzwaniu bądź nagła zmiana w życiu.

Passion plays an important role in human life. In its harmonious version it can positively affect all its aspects. In the literature on the subject, it is relatively easy to find answers to questions about the reasons why people develop their passions, as well as about the benefits they derive from their involvement. However, there are no studies on the origins of human passions. The aim of the article was to show, based on the results of my own research, the circumstances in which people discover their passions. The authoress used the case study strategy, in which she conducted eight interviews (in-depth, semi-structured) with people with passions. The conclusions of the conducted research are as follows: a) most of interlocutors discovered their passion in adulthood, b) the passions were developed by the narrators on the basis of their innate predispositions or abilities, c) the impulses that triggered passion in interlocutors were either a strongly experienced real-life experience, or the need to meet a challenge, or a sudden change in life.
