The study deals with the life and work of three significant Ostrava musicologists and music educators: Vladimír Gregor (1916–1986), Luděk Zenkl (* 1926) and Jan Mazurek (* 1941), who were gradually in the years 1959–1974, 1992–1997 and 1997–2004 at the head of the Department of Music in Ostrava Pedagogical Faculty.
