The paper analyses Chinua Achebe’s Anthills of the Savannah and its French translation Les Termitières de la Savane in order to bring to the fore areas of identity and differences between the original text and its French version in the handling of the linguistic and cultural situations in the translating process. The paper adopts a comparative approach and concludes that in spite of the cultural and linguistic challenges faced by the translator, facing us is a faithful translation of the text.
