The paper depicts kindergartens in Norway and their functioning. It describes the main priorities of this institution – care, play and education. Moreover, it outlines the implementation of these priorities in the integrated system of care for children aged between 0 and 6. The paper also draws attention to how much Norwegian society and government care for the education of the youngest children, conducting research to monitor the quality of the education.
