The role of international management accounting qualifications in the process of education and development of management accountants in Poland

The aim of the study is to present the international qualifications that are most popular among Polish management accountants and to determine the role of those qualifications in the development of this professional group. This three-stage study will also show how these qualifications are viewed by employ-ers an potential candidates for specialists in the field of management accounting. The results show an increasing interest of Polish management accountants in international qualifications, which is visible in the growing number of students gaining these qualifications, as well as an increasing interest of employ-ers. Also, accreditation of universities contributes to the popularization of these qualifications among future management accounting specialists. So far few articles in Polish literature have highlighted the role and importance of selected international qualifications in the development of the management accounting profession.
