This study presents the comparison of the organizational structure of lodging industry in Poland and in the United States. As an example of American hotel author describes four-diamond Hotel Phillips, located in Kansas City. And as an example of hotel functioning in Poland, author shows three star Hotel Gromada in Przemyśl. The main purpose of the study is to reveal differences and relations, in the organizational structure of the hotel, by using an example of both hotels. First part shows general characteristics of the organizational structure of hotels. Then detailed description of the organizational structure of Hotel Gromada and Hotel Phillips is presented. The comparative analysis indicates that there are differences in the organizational structures of both hotels. They are related to different size of both hotels, and different number of beds. Similarities are primarily, the division on the fundamental hotel departments, and the scope of their duties. The author emphasizes that this kind of comparison is reasonable, although it should be remembered, about fundamental difference, which occur between Poland and the United States.
