Otto Friedrich Bollnow was born in Szczecin. He was an educational philosopher and representative of pedagogical science, in Poland it is not well known. On the basis of phenomenology, Bollnow analyzed impor-tant problems and educational concepts. In my article I analyze, accord-ing to Bollnow, the relationship between language and education, the dignity of words and the importance of practise in school work.
