The article deals with the issue of illegal gambling in Poland. The State has the monopoly of the business in the scope of number games, cash lotteries etc. Anyone – who organizes or operates gambling games against the law (the Gambling Activities Act) or the terms of license or permit – commits the crime. The first part of article deals with some legal aspects of crime of illegal gambling. Next, there is criminological description of that problem in Poland, based on statistics published by Ministry of Justice.
