The text is a presentation of Clarence Irving Lewis’ axiology and is to be an introduction toinquiries on the theory of values and Lewis’ ethics and pragmatism in general. The paper(1) lays out the general characteristics of Lewis’ conceptual pragmatism with particularstress on the relationship between his epistemology and theory of values and valuations,(2) proceeds to the main classifications of values made by Lewis, (3) reflects on Lewis’ subjectivismand objectivism in axiology and (4) concludes with a description of the differentvalue-attitudes according to Lewis’ axiology
